Code of Conduct

One room, in person and online. This is what keeps it worth being in.

Why this exists

A training is a small group of people picking each other's work apart for months. That only works if everybody in the room is safe being wrong in front of the others, and this page is what that safety is made of.

What is expected

From everyone, every session:

  • Criticise the work, not the person. Say what is not working, and why you think so.
  • Turn up, and turn up on time, online as much as in person. Someone else's session is being spent too.
  • Take a critique the way it was meant: as help you were given for free.
  • Ask. Nobody here has ever thought less of someone for asking.
  • What is said about someone's own situation in the room stays in the room.

What is not tolerated

None of this is a grey area, and none of it needs a second warning:

  • Harassment of any kind, including remarks about someone's gender, origin, religion, appearance or means.
  • Unwanted attention of any kind, and any of it at all towards someone under 18.
  • Insults dressed up as feedback, and making a show of somebody's work.
  • Passing off someone else's work as your own.
  • Recording or sharing a session, or anything said in one, without everyone in it agreeing.

Online counts

The online sessions, the group chats and anything else carrying Progenzy's name are the same room as the one with chairs in it. Nothing here relaxes because it is happening on a screen.

Reporting something

Tell either founder, in person or through the contact page. You can report something that happened to somebody else, and you can say as much or as little as you want to say.

What happens then

One of the founders talks to you first, and does nothing you were not told about beforehand unless somebody is in danger. Depending on what happened it ends in a conversation, a warning, or a place on the training ending. The person who reported it is not the one who has to leave the room.

Who this applies to

Everyone: students, applicants on a call, anyone teaching a session, and the two founders. Nobody here is senior enough to be exempt from it.
